Result classifications
- Exact or deterministic: the same valid input produces the same defined output.
- Standards-based conversion: the relationship is defined by a recognized unit or technical standard.
- Formula-based estimate: the formula is defined, but assumptions or input quality affect practical use.
- Financial estimate: rates, fees, law, contracts, and personal circumstances can change the official result.
- Health screening estimate: educational screening information that is not a diagnosis.
- Preliminary engineering estimate: useful for early comparison but requires professional and code verification.
Source hierarchy
- Primary law, regulator, standards body, or official specification when publicly available.
- National measurement institute or official government guidance.
- Maintainer documentation for browser and software behavior.
- A reputable explanatory source only when a more direct public source is unavailable or impractical.
Regional labeling
Global means the underlying method is not tied to one country. It does not mean every legal or professional use is approved worldwide. A country or institution label narrows the intended context.
Review process
- Check the implemented formula and unit path against the cited source.
- Test normal, boundary, invalid, and large inputs.
- Keep safety and regional limitations next to the tool, not only in a footer.
- Display the applicable edition, release, tax year, living-specification status, or review snapshot on every tool page.
- Update the review date when the formula, data table, standard edition, or regulatory basis is substantively checked.
No certification claim
Citing a standard does not mean UtiliNest is certified, endorsed, approved, or audited by that publisher. UtiliNest uses the phrasing based on documented standards rather than internationally certified.
